Founder biography
Julian Brooker is an engineer, researcher and maker whose career has crossed artificial intelligence, virtual reality, telepresence, electronic control, industrial research and development, and hands-on fabrication.
His early academic work included neural networks, robotics and virtual systems. He subsequently spent many years developing practical control technology for industry, including intelligent ventilation and energy-management systems, before returning to education, design workshops and independent product development.
Quintazen brings those strands together. Its work is based on a simple conviction: the most useful intelligent systems will not live solely in the cloud or on a screen. They will inhabit tools, buildings and carefully designed objects—and they will be engineered by people who understand the whole system.
Experience
Research
Exploring how machines perceive, learn and extend human presence.
Industry
Turning sensing, algorithms and embedded hardware into dependable working systems.
Making
Understanding materials and manufacturing by working directly with them.
Quintazen
Combining those capabilities around useful products and carefully chosen client problems.
Have a difficult problem?
Quintazen is interested in projects that cross conventional boundaries—where software, electronics, data and physical design need to work together.
